  • Enter through the Porta da Vila – The beautifully tiled main gate.
  • Walk the castle walls for breathtaking views of the town and countryside.
  • Visit Óbidos Castle – One of Portugal’s best-preserved medieval castles (Note: Access to the hotel may be restricted)
  • Stroll the cobbled streets and explore quaint shops selling local crafts.
  • Try Ginjinha d’Óbidos – The famous cherry liqueur, served in a chocolate cup.

Lunch: Enjoy a meal at Petrarum Domus, a cozy medieval-style restaurant with great local dishes.

Afternoon

  • Visit the Church of Santa Maria – A Renaissance-style church with beautiful azulejos (tiles).
  • Bookstore stops: Óbidos has unique bookstores in old churches and markets, like Livraria de Santiago.
  • Relax at the Óbidos Lagoon (Lagoa de Óbidos) – A 15-minute drive to a peaceful lake, great for a scenic walk or kayaking.
