Morning
- Arrive early and park outside the walls – The town is pedestrian-only.
- Enter through the Porta da Vila – The beautifully tiled main gate.
- Walk the castle walls for breathtaking views of the town and countryside.
- Visit Óbidos Castle – One of Portugal’s best-preserved medieval castles (Note: Access to the hotel may be restricted)
- Stroll the cobbled streets and explore quaint shops selling local crafts.
- Try Ginjinha d’Óbidos – The famous cherry liqueur, served in a chocolate cup.
Lunch: Enjoy a meal at Petrarum Domus, a cozy medieval-style restaurant with great local dishes.
Afternoon
- Visit the Church of Santa Maria – A Renaissance-style church with beautiful azulejos (tiles).
- Bookstore stops: Óbidos has unique bookstores in old churches and markets, like Livraria de Santiago.
- Relax at the Óbidos Lagoon (Lagoa de Óbidos) – A 15-minute drive to a peaceful lake, great for a scenic walk or kayaking.
- If time permits, drive to Peniche, and visit the historic town center.
